Differential Propagation Delay → Angle
In addition to range estimation using propagation delay,
the direction of the target can also be determined by comparing the propagation delay across multiple receivers.
To determine the direction, we can obtain(s=R2-R1) either by measuring R2 and R1or by using the differential phase( ).

1. Differential Delay Detection
Both distance difference and phase difference arise from minute differences(α) in propagation delay.

2. Usage of Differential Delay in FMCW
The method for obtaining the value(ΔΦ) will be explained in the “How to Measure” section.
Assuming the phase difference is known, the direction(θ) of the target can now be determined.
