FMCW/Chirp Modulator

An FMCW radar signal generator is basically composed of a pattern generator and a PLL.

1. Pattern Generator

Generates the base waveform to be fed into the FMCW modulator.

2. PLL

Generates a continuous sinusoidal signal with frequency proportional to the input voltage.
